The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind in many parts of the country over the next 24 hours, starting from 9:00am today (Oct 10).
According to a BMD bulletin issued this morning, “Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions.”
It added that “one or two places over Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions may witness similar weather,” with a possibility of “moderately heavy to heavy rainfall at places across the country.”
The Met Office also predicted that day and night temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged throughout the country.
Meanwhile, the monsoon is currently less active over Bangladesh and weak to moderate over the North Bay, the BMD said.
On Thursday, the highest temperature in the country was recorded at 34.5°C in Feni, while the lowest, 23.5°C, was recorded in Rangamati today.
In the capital, the sun will set at 5:37pm today and rise again at 5:54am tomorrow.
Bangladesh has been witnessing scattered rainfall over the past few days due to monsoon activity, which has brought temporary relief from heat in several regions, particularly in the southern and eastern parts of the country.
