Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus will leave Dhaka for Rome tomorrow to attend the flagship event of the World Food Forum (WFF), organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations.
A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight carrying Prof Yunus and his entourage is scheduled to depart from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 11:30 am, confirmed Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam.
According to the tour schedule, Prof Yunus will address the main session of the WFF as an invited guest, where global leaders, policymakers, and innovators will discuss the future of food systems.
During his stay in Rome, he is also expected to hold meetings with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and heads of several international organizations. The discussions will focus on key global priorities, including food security, poverty alleviation, and sustainable development.
The World Food Forum, taking place at the FAO Headquarters from October 10 to 17, brings together experts, researchers, and entrepreneurs from around the world to share insights and solutions for a more resilient global food system.
Prof Yunus’s participation in the event is being seen as a significant step in enhancing Bangladesh’s active role in international dialogues on sustainable development and global cooperation.
