Bangladesh Army has taken 15 officers into military custody following the issuance of arrest warrants against them in separate cases related to crimes against humanity.
Major General Md Hakimuzzaman, adjutant general of the Bangladesh Army, provided the update at a press briefing held at the Officers' Mess in Dhaka Cantonment this afternoon (11 October).
"Fourteen of the officers are in active service and one is on leave preparatory to retirement (LPR). We asked 16 officers to report to army custody; 15 have complied,” he added.
