The government has declared Cox’s Bazar Airport an international airport, according to a government notification issued on Sunday (October 12).
The order, signed by Joint Secretary Ahmed Jamil of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, takes immediate effect.
Invoking the authority granted under Rule 16(1) of the Civil Aviation Rules, 1984, the notification redesignates the facility as “Cox’s Bazar International Airport.”
It states that the decision has been made in the public interest and takes effect immediately.
