Two motorcyclists killed in CoxÔÇÖs Bazar road crash

COX’S BAZAR: Two people were killed and two injured in a road crash in Ramu upazila on the Cox’s Bazar-Chittagong Highway Friday night.

The deceased were identified as Riaduddin, 24, and Manjur Ahmed, 19, hailed from Kharulia Dargahpara. They both were the passengers of a motorcycle.

Police and witnesses said a bus of Hanif Paribahan hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw stationed on the road in Chakmarkul area at about 10pm, leaving the auto-rickshaw driver and a passenger injured.

At the same time, a motorbike hit hard the auto-rickshaw while bike rider tried to overtake the accident-ridden vehicle, killing Riauddin on the spot and injuring Manjur critically. Manjur succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital.

Injured Kamal Uddin, 28 and Abdul Jalil, 60, were also admitted to the hospital.

SI Md Julfikar of Cox’s Bazar highway police said that they seized the killer bus.
