RAJSHAHI: A youth was chopped to death over land feuds on Wednesday night in Rajshahi city, police said.

The victim was Sumon, from Chotobon village area.

Boalia Model thana OC Jasim Uddin said that at around 8:30 pm, a local named Akthar Hossain called the victim to his chamber following a land dispute in the area. Some assailants allegedly led by Akthar attacked Sumon with sharp weapons. Sumon was taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where the duty doctors declared him dead.

Police arrested a man named Shafiqul in connection with the murder at around 10 pm and were out on a drive to hunt down others.
