11 phensidyl, fake-note traders, pickpockets held

DHAKA: Detective Branch (DB) of Police arrested 11 pickpockets, phensidyl and fake note traders from different areas of the capital in last 24 hours that ended Thursday night.

They disclosed this in a press conference on Friday morning at DB police headquarters.

Sadira Khatun, assistant police commissioner of DB told journalists that the team-led by her seized fake notes worth Tk one lakh and arrested three people in a raid at Matuail areas.

The arrested were identified as Shahin, 26, Saju and saiful.

In another drive at Muslim Nagar in the same area, the law enforcers seized 50 bottles of phensidyl and arrested Helal, 28, Rabiul, 30 and Nasrin, 25 from the spot.

Police also raided different passenger buses plying on Gulistan-Farmgate route, and arrested five pickpockets and seized eight mobile sets from their possessions.

The arrested were identified as team leader Aslam, 50, and Nurul Islam, 35, Saiful Islam, 42, Saju and Saiful, 22.
 
Sadira Khatun said the three different cases were filed with Gulshan and Demra thanas in these connections.
