Pabna cops killing: 2 more men nabbed

PABNA: Police on early Saturday arrested two persons including one of main accused in connection with Tuesday’s cops killing incident.

The arrested persons were identified as Tajul Kha alias Taju Kha, 42 and Abdur Rahim, 23.

Rajbari police super SM Ainul Bari told banglanews24.com.bd that on information they arrested one of the main accused Taju raiding Shameshpur area of Dadshi union in Rajbari district at about 4am.

Taju was later sent to the district jail.

In another development, Abdur Rahim was arrested from Dhalarchar area in Bera upazila.

Acting on a tip-off, police raided the area at about 3am and arrested Abdur Rahim, 23, hails from Balundi village in Bera upazila.

Bera thana OC Sheikh Zillur Rahman said two special teams of the intelligence wing from Dhaka were interrogating Rahim.

He also said the arrested gave important information. “We’re hopeful about the arrest of the main accused soon,” he added.  

Police, so far, arrested four people in connection with the killing.

The two other arrested-- Nader Pramanik and Wajed Ali --were sent to jail on Friday following a court order.

Three police personnel-- SI Kafil Uddin, nayek Abdul Wahed and constable Shafique Ahmed of Dhalarchar police camp-- were shot dead by outlaws in Bera upazila on Tuesday.
