DHAKA: Youth and students organizations of the country have formed a national preparatory committee to join 17th World Youth Festival, organized by World Democratic Youth Federation.     

The nine-day festival will begin on December 13 this year in South Africa with the slogan ‘Let us defeat imperialism for the world maintaining peace, fraternity and social changes`.

Members of the preparatory committee informed this at a press conference held at the central office of the Communist Party of Bangladesh here Saturday.

Journalist Manjurul Ahsan Bulbul was made the chairman of the committee while Jubo Union general secretary Hasan Hafizur Rahman Sohel the member secretary.

Some 25 youths represented Bangladesh in the 16th youth festival held in Venezuela in 2005.
