MANIKGANJ: A total of 27 cows drowned in a head on collision of two trawlers at Hazratpur under Singair upazila in the district Saturday.

Witnesses and cattle traders said 27 cows drowned as a trawler owned by Abdus Samad capsized collided another trawler carrying cows.

Affected cattle trader Abu Syed Member told banglanews24.com.bd some 13 small traders incurred loss of Tk 15 lakh as cows drowned. A total of 45 cows were in the capsized trawler.

Officer-in-Charge of Singair thana Shafiqur Rahman has confirmed the incident.
