DHAKA: A housewife at Bangshal in the city set fire to her body over a trifling family dispute on Friday evening.

The victim is Afrina Akhter, 27, of Abul Hasnat road under Bangshal thana.

Afrina’s husband Nur Mohammad Rony, 32, was also burnt severely while trying to save her.

The both were rushed to the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital at around 10 pm.

They physicians of the burn unit told banglanews24.com.bd 90 percent of Afrina’s body was burnt and she was in a critical condition.

Rony, the husband, told banglanews24.com.bd Afrin set fire to herself pouring kerosene to her body over a dispute with her mother in law at the time of Iftar.
