KUSHTIA: Assailants slaughtered a youth at Kabarbaria village in Mirpur upazila on Sunday night and the cause of his brutal murder remained clouded.

The diseased was identified as Dablu Pramanik, 30, son of Abul Hossain Pramanik of Satbaria village in the same upazila.

Local JSD leaders claimed Dablu was an activist of their party. But, denying his involvement with any party, Dablu’s elder brother Atar Ali said he “might have been killed following previous enmity”.

Dablu went out of his house Sunday and did not return home at night. His body was found in GK canal of Kabarbaria village on Monday morning.

On information, police recovered and sent the dead body to Kushtia General Hospital morgue.
