DHAKA: Senior Judge of Bhola Jabed Imam has been jailed for 4-year in a case filed for carrying 342 bottles contraband Phensedyl syrup.

The court also fined Jabed Tk 10,000 or, in default, to suffer two months more in jail.

Dhaka-2 Additional Metropolitan Session Judge Ruhul Amin passed the order Tuesday.

On December 1 in 2012, Jabed Imam was arrested with 342 bottles of phensedyl and a loaded pistol adjacent to capital’s New Market area.

The Law and Justice Division of the Law Ministry suspended Javed Imam on the following day.

On December 20 of the same year, police submitted charge sheet against him.
