SIRAJGANJ: Two people, including a minor girl, drowned at Shahajadpur municipality in the district on Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Nayan Tara, 28, wife of Chan Mia and Rashida, 6, daughter of Shital Pramanik.

Local sources said that epilepsy patient Nayan Tara drowned while taking bath in a pond near home. Later, she was found dead around 4:00pm.

On the other hand, Rashida slipped to a pond while playing. She died on the spot.

Shahajadpur Thana Officer-in-Charge Hasan Shamim confirmed the matter to banglanews.
