DHAKA: With recitations from Holy Quran, Geeta, Bible and Tripitaka, the rally of ruling Awami League began at Suhrawardy Uddyan in the city around 3.00pm Friday.

With acting president of Dhaka Metropolitan Awami League MA Aziz in the chair, the rally is attended, among others, by AL leader Mohammad Nasim, Ameer Hossain Amu, Suranjit Sengupta and Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, also president of the party, is scheduled to address the rally as chief guest.
