38 men held in Cox’s Bazar

COX’SBAZAR: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-7 in a drive held 38 Malaysia-bound people from a hotel of the district on Saturday noon.

The detainees hailed from Kishoreganj, Araihazar Upazila of Narayanganj, Swandip upazila of Chittagong and Narsingdi.

Sources said RAB held them from a residential hotel of the district town as they were preparing to go to Malaysia illegally.

Confirming the matter, RAB-7 Cox’sbazar camp in-charge Major Sarwar-e-Alam told banglanews, “The detainees are being interrogated.”

After identifying the brokers, a case will be filed, he added.
