PM in New York to attend UNGA

NEW YORK: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has arrived New York on Monday morning on an eight-day official visit to attend the 68th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

An Emirates flight carrying the Prime Minister and the members of her entourage landed at John F Kennedy International Airport in New York around 9:00am.

The premier will address the 68th session of the UNGA on September 27.

On the sidelines of the UNGA, she will attend a number of high-level events and bilateral talks, including her Indian Counterpart Manmohan Singh.

Foreign Minister Dr Dipu Moni, Bangladesh Ambassador to the USA Akramul Qader, Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to the United Nations Dr AK Abdul Momen received the Prime Minister at the JFK Airport.

During her visit to the United States, PM’s Media Advisor Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury, Ambassador-at-Large M Ziauddin, Principal Secretary Shaikh M Wahid-Uz-Zaman and Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad are accompanying the premier.
