RMG workers withdraw blockade

NARAYANGANJ: RMG workers withdrew blockade from Dhaka-Narayanganj link road which started to realize their one point demand on Tuesday morning.

Around 10 thousands of workers started protest by blocking the link road demanding the salary hike to a minimum of TK 8,000 per month.

The protest created a long tailback on the road causing immense sufferings to the city dwellers.

Later, the agitated workers withdrew their protest and moved away from the road at around 11:45 am after Chairman of Bangladesh Trade Union, Narayanganj MA Shaheen, Narayanganj Industrial police Super Abdul Malek Sikder assured them of taking initiatives to fulfill their demands.

The maximum factories were declared closed for Tuesday to avoid anarchy.

Fatulla Model police station officer-in-Charge Akter Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews.
