RMG workers protest in Ashulia

ASHULIA, SAVAR: With the demand of minimum Tk 8,000 salary, RMG workers staged protest for the second day in Ashulia, outskirt of Dhaka, on Tuesday morning.

To avoid any unwanted situation six factories were declared closed for the day at around 09:30am.

Agitated workers of six factories and police locked into a clash when workers tried to vandalize factories and block Baipail-Abdullahpur road.

They threw bricks-chips to the law enforcers. Police opened fire and charged batons to take the situation under control, leaving 20 workers injured.

Additional police force and patrol police were deployed in the area to avoid further violence.

Industrial Police Officer-in-Charge Abdus Sattar confirmed the matter to banglanews.
