BARISAL: A mother along with her son was killed in a road accident on Dhaka-Barisal highway at Khanjapur union in Gauranadi upazila of the district on Tuesday noon.

The deceased were identified as Beauty Begum, 30, wife of Kamal Bepari and her son Ferdous, 2, of the upazila.

Sources said Beauty along with her son was going to her father’s house around 12:00pm.

She was waiting for a rickshaw at Illa Bus Stand. At one stage, a Barisal-bound bus knocked Beauty and her son, leaving them dead on the spot.

Officer-in-Charge of Gauranadi Thana Abul Kalam said the bodies were sent to Barisal Medical College Hospital morgue.
