DHAKA: The Indian Railways Wednesday said it had cancelled the trip of the Maitree Express train from Kolkata on October 15 and from Dhaka on October 16 on the request of the Bangladesh Railway.
An official press release said this had been done to avoid operational complications arising out of the non-running of trains in Bangladesh on Eid-ul-Azha.
"Normal services of the train will resume thereafter," the release added.
The train normally runs from Kolkata every Tuesday and Saturday and in the return direction on Wednesdays and Sundays.
