Pangsha UP member succumbs

RAJBARI: After fighting for life for three days, Pangsha Union Parisad member who sustained bullet injury in an attack by miscreants, died on Friday morning at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

The deceased was identified as Debesh Kumar, 35, a member of ward no.3 of the Pangsha UP, also general secretary of ward units of ruling Awami League.

Earlier on Wednesday, miscreants opened fire aiming UP members Debesh Kumar and Fayez Uddin, leaving them critically injured.

Locals rushed them to Faridpur Medical College Hospital and then shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where Debesh Kumar succumbed to his injuries at around 8:30am.

Patta Union Awami League general secretary Abdur Rab told banglanews, “Centering fish cultivation, miscreants demanded ransom from the two UP members and miscreants fired them while they were patrolling their water body.”

Kalukhali’s Mrigi investigation center Sub-inspector Nazrul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Victim’s wife filed a case naming 10 people and police held two men.
