One dies, 40 hurt in B’baria accident

BRAMHANBARIA: Police and fire service workers, in a joint effort, recovered a body and 40 others injured were rescued as a passenger plunged into the Titas River near Rampur Bridge under Bijoynagar Upazila in the district on Sunday night.

The deceased could not be identified immediately.

Witnesses said that the bus plunged into the river when its driver lost control over the steering after a head on clash with a trolley in the area.

Traffic sergeant of Brahmanbaria M Bayezid confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He said, “A fire service diver team rushed the spot and rescued 40 passengers so far.”

The injured were admitted to Brahmanbaria District Sadar Hospital and Madhabpur Health Complex. Critically injured were shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
