DHAKA: The agitated teachers of primary schools had given an ultimatum to government till October 13 to fulfill their 11-point demand.
Bangladesh Primary School Teachers’ Forum gave the ultimatum from a rally and hunger strike programme at Central Shaheed Minar in the capital on Friday morning.
Their demands included-- to get recognition as a second class gadget officer for Headmasters, getting fixed wage scale, being paid due salary and bonuses immediately and so on.
The Chairman of the forum M Nuruzzaman Ansari said that the process of meeting the demands started in 2006, but couldn’t come to an implementation yet.
He also blamed the Ministry of Public Administration in this regard and mentioned that they had been refused for four times earlier to gain their demands. So now they are giving an ultimatum to the government until October 13, he added.
Ansari also said that they would go for further strict demonstrations if their demands were not met in due time.
Moreover, earlier they were assured by the government to meet their demands within October 6, though no initiatives were taken yet in this regard.
