FROM KUSHTIA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, also president of ruling Awami League categorically assured that her party would set up universities in all major districts if they assume power next.
“Steps have been taken in the meantime and vote Awami League to form government next,” she urged.
She came up with the allegation while addressing a rally at Kushtia Government College ground on Saturday afternoon.
Sheikh Hasina said, “I think that the people should keep faith in me that the Sundarbans will not be damaged, and Sheikh Hasina won`t do anything that will harm the country.”
Criticizing the opponents of the Rampal Power Plant, the Prime Minister said her government has taken initiative to dredge the Pashur River and Ghasia Canal to improve and protect environment of the Sundarbans.
She also alleged that opposition leader Khaleda Zia had embezzled money of the orphans as she was good at lying.
“BNP’s work is to kill people and do corruption while Awami League does development when they assume power,” she added.
Earlier in the day, the premier inaugurated some development works in the district.
