Moon Sighting body sits at 6:15pm

DHAKA: The National Moon Sighting Committee is set to sit on Sunday evening at the Islamic Foundation to fix the date for holy Eid-ul-Azha in the Arabic month of Jil Hajj.

The meeting will be held at 6:15pm (after Magriv prayer) with State Minister for Religious Affairs and president of the committee Advocate Mohammad Shahjahan Mia MP in the chair.

The moon-sighting committee would meet to take decision on the date of Eid-ul-Azha after reviewing the moon of Jil Hajj of 1434 Hijri, said the press release.

People have been requested to inform the Islamic Foundation over telephone and fax if the new moon is sighted anywhere in the country’s skies. The phone numbers are –955 9493, 955 9643, 955 5947, 955 6407, 955 8337 and fax- 956 3397.
