World for hearing BD success story

DHAKA: Foreign Minister Dr Dipu Moni said Bangladesh’s own development story is something that the world wants to hear about more and more from us.

She also said: “What makes our case particularly unique is that we have proven to the world that it is possible to have significant human development even within a narrow economic base and despite growing environmental challenges.”

The minister came up with the assertions in a written statement at the Certificate Giving Ceremony of Brainwiz Model UN Conference, Dhaka Council on October 6, 2013 at Dhaka University.

Dipu Moni expressed her pleasure for her chance of addressing and sharing ideas and thoughts with young and inquisitive minds.

Students from around 25 Universities and schools of the country participated in the programme with great enthusiasm.

She also encouraged the young saying that “… this has been a good training ground for many of the participants … so that they can take up the challenge to stand shoulder to shoulder with their peers from the rest of the world in the years to come.”

Awami League leader also requested the organisers to “to target having more and more participation from educational institutions from outside Dhaka in future.”

She also urged the corporate sector to come forward to extend their support to such programmes of youth’s

Dipu Moni also praised the government for its collaboration with academics, journalists, civil society, NGO’s and development partners’ which helped to achieve the status Bangladesh is enjoying in the United Nations.

She also encouraged Bangladeshi youth to enlist as UN volunteers and “reach out to all parts of the world under the banner of the UN …. which has been a rarely explored territory for Bangladesh’s youth.”

Foreign Minister also reiterated her government’s commitment to support the youth of the country in every sector.

Brainwiz is a students’ organisation for youth of various academic levels in schools and colleges. Brainwiz’s mission is to develop academic and interpersonal skills, behaviours and attitudes in academically motivated for an overall personality development by organising and conducting high-quality educational activities like debates, quizzes, seminars and Model UN Conferences which has started in 2010 in New Delhi.
