Separate road mishaps leave 2 dead, 10 injured in Pabna

PABNA: Two road accidents Thursday left two people dead and 10 injured in Bera and Chatmohor upazilas in the district.

Witnesses said a recklessly driven truck knocked a human hauler, locally called Nasiman, off the Pabna-Chatmahar highway into a roadside ditch at Railbazar at around 2:00pm, leaving a youth named Sumon Hossain, 25, dead on the spot. Six others were critically injured.

The injured were admitted into Chatmohor upazila health complex. Police seized the killer truck along with the driver from Atghoria Bazar.

A case was filed with Chatmahar Thana in this connection.

Besides, a woman was run over by a human hauler at Kazirhat under Bera upazila of the district at around 12:30 pm. Four others were also injured in the accident.

The deceased was identified as Dolly Khatun, 35, wife of Chand Ali of Teghori Maholla of Bera municipal area.
