Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) started its rally at Rangpur Collectorate Eidgah Ground before 2pm on Saturday (Oct 29).

The rally began at 11:4am, though it was scheduled to begin at 2 pm.

BNP is holding rallies in divisional cities one after another Protesting the price hike of daily essentials and fuels, the death of five party men in previous police action and ensuring the freedom of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.

Today is the party's fourth rally in the divisional (Rangpur) city.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir is scheduled to address the rally as the chief guest.

Members of the BNP and its affiliates had been converging on the city from the eight districts of Rangpur division since Thursday night.

Most of the party men had to come to the venue on foot due to the ongoing transport strike in the city.
