The divisional mass rally of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has begun at the Bangabandhu Udyan premises with the recitation from the Holy Quran at 11:00am.

Thousands of leaders and activists of BNP and its associate bodies from different districts under the division joined the rally.

Local activists and leaders started addressing the rally after 11:00am, Banglanews Correspondent reports.

BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and other central leaders arrived in Barishal on the occasion of the rally.

Meanwhile, bus, launch, speedboat and three-wheeler movements in Barishal division have come to a halt over the last couple of days.

According to locals, the sudden suspension of public vehicle movement on roads and waterways caused immense public suffering.
