CHANDPUR: At least 30 people were injured in a clash between supporters of Awami League and opposition BNP at Bahoria Bazar under Sadar upazila on the district on Wednesday.

Sources said activists of BNP and Awami League locked into clash over supporting and anti-hartal sentiment around 10:00am, leaving at least 30 people from both sides injured.

On information, police rushed in and brought the situation under control.

The injured were admitted to Chandpur Sadar Hospital and local clinics.

Officer-in-Charge of Sadar Thana Mahbub Morshed said BGB and police personnel were deployed in the town to avert further clash.
