The 30th national council of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), the student wing of the ruling Awami League, will be held on December 6.
Awami League Office Secretary Biplob Barua confirmed the schedule on Sunday (Nov 27).
At first, December 3 was fixed to hold the conference. But later, it was postponed as per the Prime Minister's direction.
The last BCL council was held in May, 2018.
In July of that year, Rezwanul Haque Chowdhury Shovon and Golam Rabbani became president and general secretary of the organization. They lost their positions in September 2019 over various allegations, including extortion in development projects.
Later, Al-Nahean Khan Joy and Lekhak Bhattacharya became acting president and acting general secretary of the Chhatra League.
On January 4, 2020, on the founding anniversary of the Chhatra League, Joy and Lekhak became president and general secretary.
