The BNP will stage demonstrations across the country today (Dec 8) protesting the "police attack" on party leaders and activists in the capital's Nayapaltan area on Wednesday.
The party made the announcement after holding its standing committee meeting, last night at party Chairperson Khaleda Zia's Gulshan office, said a BNP press release.
Condemning the police attack, they also demanded immediate release of the detained leaders and activists, the release said.
Earlier on December 7, a youth was killed and many others were injured as the police and activists of the BNP locked in a clash in front of the party central office at Naya Paltan in Dhaka.
More than 300 BNP leaders and activists including BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi and Party Vice Chairman Amanullah Aman were arrested from Naya Paltan on Wednesday.
