Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) started its 10th divisional mass rally in Dhaka on Saturday (Dec 10) morning. 

The rally has formally begun at Golapbagh field in the capital at 10:20 through recitation from the Quran.

Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP convener Amanullah Aman is presiding over the rally. BNP standing committee member Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain is expected to address the rally as the chief guest.

The leaders and supporters of the party from different parts of the city and adjoining areas have started thronging at the rally venue since Friday night which forced to suspend plying of vehicles on one side of the road.

Chanting slogans and carrying placards, leaders and activists are demanding the release of the party Chairperson Khaleda Zia, senior leaders Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Mirza Abbas from jail.

Today is the party's final and 10th rally in the divisional (Dhaka) city. Earlier BNP held divisional rallies in Chattogram, Mymensingh, Khulna, Rangpur, Barishal, Faridpur, Sylhet, Cumilla and Rajshahi.

BNP is holding rallies in divisional cities one after another Protesting the price hike of daily essentials and fuels, the death of five party men in previous police action and ensuring the freedom of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.

Law enforcers have taken adequate measures to maintain the law and order situation in and around the city centering the BNP rally whle check-posts have been set up at all entry points of the city.
