Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader today has urged BNP not to bring out “mass procession” in Dhaka on December 24 as his party is set to hold its national council on the same day.
The announcement of BNP's mass rally program on that day is an act of incitement or seeking conflict, he claimed.
Quader made this urge while addressing a press conference at the party president's political office in Dhanmondi on the occasion of the party's 22nd national council.
Earlier on December 10, BNP's standing committee member Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain announced mass processions and demonstrations in protest of the attack on and arrest of party leaders and activists.
He said on December 13, there would be countrywide mass demonstration in protest of arrest of BNP leaders and activists since the clash with police in front of the Nayapaltan head office on December 7.
Besides, on December 24, the party will hold processions in all divisional and metropolitan cities to realise their 10-point demand.
