The Appellate Division upholds the High Court ordered which directed the Election Commission to register the Trinamool BNP, led by former minister Nazmul Huda as a political party.
The three-member Appellate Division bench headed by Chief Justice Hasan Faiz Siddiqui passed the order today (Dec 18) rejecting the Election Commission's appeal against the High Court's verdict.
Advocate Mohammad Yasin Khan represented the Election Cossion while Advocate Shah Manjurul Haque was present in favor of Nazmul Huda.
Earlier on November 4, 2018, the High Court instructed the Election Commission to register Trinamool BNP of Barrister Nazmul Huda as a political party.
The bench of Justices Tariq ul Hakim and Md Shohrowardi came up with the order following a petition.
Nazmul Huda has formed four parties under the names Bangladesh National Front, Bangladesh National Alliance, Bangladesh Manabadhikar Party and Trinamool BNP since leaving the BNP.
