Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and its standing committee member Mirza Abbas today (Dec 21) sought bail from Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court in a case filed over the clash between police and the BNP activists in Dhaka's Nayapaltan area on December 7.

Judge Md Asaduzzaman will hear the bail petitions at 3:00 pm today.

The defense Lawyer Syed Zaynal Abedin Mesbah confirmed this matter.

Earlier, Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court rejected Fakhrul and Abbas's bail petition for three consecutive dates on different reasons.

The case was filed with Paltan Model Police Station on December 8, a day after the clash broke out in front of the party's Nayapaltan office.
