A Dhaka court today (Dec 21) rejected the bail petitions of BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and standing committee member Mirza Abbas for the fourth time in a case filed over the Dec 7 clash between law enforcers and BNP men in Dhaka's Nayapaltan area.
Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Md. Asaduzzaman passed the order on Wednesday (Dec 21).
Earlier on December 15, Mirza Fakhrul and Mirza Abbas were denied bail for the third time in the same case.
On December 13, state counsel said Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Mirza Abbas were given division facilities in jail.
The BNP leaders, who were shown arrested in the case, are now in jail.
Earlier on December 7, a Swechchasebak Dal leader was killed and around 50 others were injured in a clash between police and the BNP activists in front of the party’s Nayapaltan central office, ahead of its December 10 rally.
