BNP MP Harunur Rashid submits resignation

Harunur Rashid, a BNP lawmaker from Chapainawabganj-3, tendered his resignation to parliament Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury on Thursday (Dec 22) as part of their anti-government movement.

He went to the parliament around 12:00 am and submitted his resignation to the Speaker. 

On December 11, five BNP lawmakers went to the parliament and submitted their resignation. 

The MPs who resigned were-- Md Aminul Islam of Chapainawabganj-2; Md Zahidur Rahman of Thakurgaon-3; Md Mosharof Hosen of Bogura-4; Gulam Mohammad Siraj of Bogura-6; and Rumeen Farhana, lawmaker from a seat reserved for women.

On October 30, BNP's secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced that the party lawmakers are ready to resign from the parliament.
