The newly elected committee of the ruling Awami League paid glowing tribute to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Dhanmondi 32 in the capital on Sunday (Dec 25) morning.

The committee, led by AL President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, went to Dhanmondi 32 at 10am and then paid homage by placing wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu. 

Earlier, AL General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader urged all the newly elected committee members to remain present maintaining the proper health guidelines.

On Saturday (Dec 24), AL dubbed as one of the largest political parties in the subcontinent got the new committee following its 22nd national council held at the historic Suhrawardy Udyan in the city.

After the council, Sheikh Hasina has been reelected as AL President for the 10th consecutive time while Obaidul Quader was reelected as General Secretary for the third consecutive term.
