The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) on Friday declared a mass sit-in programme for January 11 in all divisional cities across the country for fulfilling their 10-point demand including resignation of ruling Awami League government and dissolving of parliament.
BNP standing committee member Khandaker Musharraf Hossain announced the sit-in programme from a rally in front of the party’s Naya Paltan central office before starting party’s pre-scheduled mass procession today.
Musharraf Hossain said that Dhaka’s four-hour sit-in would be held in front of the party’s central office in the capital.
Earlier today, BNP along with other opposition parties bring out mass processions in Dhaka with the aim of ousting the Awami League government and holding the next general election under election-time caretaker government.
On the other hand, Ganatantra Mancha also announced mass sit-in for the same January 11 in all divisional cities across Bangladesh.
