Police have filed four separate cases against leaders and activists of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami in connection with clashes on Friday's (Dec 30) in the capital's Malibagh and Mouchak areas after Juma prayers Friday afternoon.
The clash, however, left several police personnel injured in Malibagh, Mouchak and Paltan areas.
Earlier on Friday (Dec 30) night and Saturday (De 31) morning, the police filed one case with Dhaka's Rampura police station, two with Khilgaon Police station and another with in Shahjahanpur Police Station.
According to the case, Jamaat-e-Islami activists have been accused of obstructing police work, assault and explosion.
Hayatul Islam Khan, Deputy Commissioners (DC) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) of Motijheel Division confirmed the matter.
Earlier on December 30, clashes broke out between police personnel and Jamaat-Shibir men in the capital's Malibagh and Mouchak areas right after Juma prayers as they tried to bring out processions in those areas.
