The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has announced holding nationwide mass processions and rallies on January 16 to press home their 10-point demand and in protest against the electricity price hike.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir made the announced the fresh programme on Wednesday (Jan 11) from a sit-in programme in front of party's Nayapaltan office in the capital.
Fakhrul said that elections should be held under the caretaker government.
Earlier today, a mass sit-in programme was held in all divisional cities across the country for fulfilling their 10-point demand including resignation of ruling Awami League government and dissolving of parliament.
The party’s vice-chairmen, the chairperson’s advisers, and joint secretaries general led the 10 teams to make the sit-in programme a success.
As per the schedule, BNP leaders and activists hold a mass sit-in in front of the party’s central office in Dhaka city from 10am to 2pm.
