BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir returned home from Evercare Hospital on Monday night after medical check-up.

Mirza Fakhrul returned home after a health check-up, as he is now well, said the party's media cell member Shayrul Kabir Khan on Tuesday.

The senior BNP leader was admitted to the hospital in the capital on Sunday morning as per his doctor's advice.

On January 9, 2023, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and standing committee member Mirza Abbas walked out of jail, a month after they were arrested in a case filed over Nayapaltan clashes on December 9.

The case was filed with Paltan Model Police Station on December 8, 2022, following the December 7 clash between BNP men and police in front of the party's Nayapaltan central office. 

On December 9, Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Detective Branch (DB) picked up Mirza Fakhrul Alamgir.
