BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has called upon the current government to resign without delay.
He made this comment before the inauguration of the march program organized by Dhaka North City unit BNP at Badda in the capital on Saturday (January 28).
Fakhrul said today we started a new movement through a silent protest and silent march in Dhaka city.
"We will force this monstrous government to remove along with the people," he added.
“Today the price of rice, pulses, eggs, oil and salt has increased. My rickshaw puller brothers, labor brothers are not able to live. They are not able to buy rice, pulse, oil and salt,” he added.
He further said, “Today, if you want to speak and protest, the opposition party is being detained with false cases and disappear cases. Today they have turned the entire Bangladesh into a prison. Do we accept it?”
Fakhrul said, “Do we have right to vote? No. We need to bring back that right to vote. We need to take back the right to speak.”
Earlier today, BNP begun its four-day march program in the capital to press home their 10-point demand, including holding the next general election under a non-party caretaker government.
The first of the road marches, organised by the party's Dhaka North unit, started from the Suvastu Valley point at Badda around 2pm and end in front of Abul Hotel at Malibagh.
