PABNA: District BNP started observing dawn-to-dusk hartal in Pabna district on Saturday demanding release of all detained leaders of the party including Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas.

Chhatra Dal activists staged protest at Edward College gate and Masum Bazar area setting fire on tyres in the early hour of hartal.

BNP leaders and activists brought out several processions and unleashed picketing in some points of the town.

Police Super Miraz Uddin Ahmmed told banglanews that additional law enforcers were deployed in the district town to avert any untoward situation.

Office secretary of district BNP Jahurul Islam said that vehicles carrying JSC, PSC examinees, ambulance, food & medicine shops will remain out of hartal purview.
