DHAKA: Ruling Awami League General Secretary Syed Ashraful Islam and opposition BNP Acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir had a meeting secretly on Saturday midnight over the ongoing political crisis.

Sources said that they held the talks at a Banani residence in the capital but the topics remained undisclosed.

While contacted Ruhul Kabir Rizvi denied the matter.

Earlier, in a function marking Armed Forces Day, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina urged to hold a meeting in general secretary level.
