SIRAJGANJ: District BNP called dawn-to-dusk hartal for Thursday, protesting the death of a passer-by, whom they claimed as BNP activist.

District BNP president Iqbal Hasan Mahmud, also advisor to the BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He also said that the dead Sakman Hossain was general secretary of ward no-7 under Sadar Upazila.

During their peaceful blockade programme, indiscriminate firing by police killed him, he claimed.

While observing 48-hour blockade programme enforced by 18-party, a passer-by, who was identified as Sakman Hossain, was killed in a clash between cops and BNP supporters in Jagai intersection of Sirajganj town.
