SIRAJGANJ: The daylong hartal, called by 18-party alliance, is underway in the district on Thursday amid stray incidents of picketing.

The party is observing the shutdown protesting the three BNP-Jamaat men killing incident.

Sources said that Jamaat activists put blockade on roads in Samaj Kolyan area of the district town at around 6:15am.

Meanwhile, they brought out a brisk stick procession.

But no pickets or BNP activists were seen to stage rally in anywhere of the district.

Sirajganj Additional Police Super Moktar Hossain told banglanews, “No untoward situation was reported yet.”

Additional law enforcers were deployed in important spots of the district, he added.
