Shibir-cop clash in city, bus torched

DHAKA: Activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and Chhatra Shibir  locked into clash with police in front of Minabazar at Dhanmondi 15 on Thursday, the third day of 71-hour blockade called by 18-party alliance.

During the clash, Shibir men torched a bus of Maitee Paribahan and Leguna at around 9:15am, leaving some passengers injured.

They also vandalized a private car and hurled brick-chips at police and blasted 8/10 cocktails.

Dhanmondi thana officer-in charge Abu Saleh Md Masum confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Two fire fighting units of Mohammadpur fire service rushed to spot and doused the fire.
